How we compare
You're paying for the drive. Not the clock.
Other platforms bill by the minute — including every minute your team spends loading. We don't. See how our flat-rate model saves you money on real jobs.
Vehicle matching
When you submit a job, our system reads your cargo description and automatically assigns the right vehicle — based on size, quantity, and type. You never choose. The algorithm handles it before a driver is dispatched.
Weather is checked at dispatch. We pull a live hourly forecast from the National Weather Service for your pickup location. If precipitation or extreme temperatures are detected — at dispatch time or at a scheduled delivery window — weather-sensitive cargo is automatically routed to an enclosed vehicle. If our weather feed is ever unavailable, we default to enclosed. Open-bed vehicles are never assigned when there is any doubt.
If you know your cargo can handle the conditions, you can toggle weather protection off before confirming. By doing so, you accept responsibility for any damage caused by exposure.
How pricing works
Each vehicle class carries a different base fee — sedan, pickup truck, and box truck. The vehicle is assigned by the algorithm based on your cargo, not chosen by you.
A per-mile rate is added on top of the base fee. All jobs have a 3-mile minimum — shorter runs are billed as 3 miles.
Additional pickup stops add a flat fee each. Drop-offs beyond the first destination are also factored in.
Describe your items and our system automatically selects the right vehicle — sedan, pickup truck, or cargo van. Larger, heavier loads require bigger vehicles and cost more; that rate also goes directly to the driver.
A per-item fee applies once your load exceeds a threshold. The threshold varies by vehicle — larger vehicles accommodate more items before the fee kicks in.
For drivers
RoadGofer takes only a small platform fee. The bulk of every fare goes directly to the driver who did the work.
Drivers with strong track records get first pick of high-value orders. Reliability is rewarded with volume.
Large cargo rates reflect the real cost of operating bigger vehicles and handling tougher jobs.
We're looking for reliable drivers with clean records in the Chattanooga and Cleveland area. Sedan, pickup truck, and cargo van operators welcome.
